losing it again:
losing it again handlar om sökandet efter något man inte riktigt kan sätta ord på, signaler från rymden man får korta glimtar av utan att få en ordentlig kontakt. när ens fokus ligger på att jaga de här svaga, utomjordiska signalerna är risken att man missar de signaler som faktiskt finns här på jorden.
låten handlar om hur vi som människor lätt fastnar i en önskan om något utom räckhåll, och då missar de fina saker vi har i närheten. man kan dra en liknelse till relationer, och hur man kan dras till personer som är otillgängliga med hopp om att gräset är grönare på andra sidan (se även swallowtail), vilket det kanske sällan är. den här låten skrev jag under en väldigt turbulent känslomässig period, och det lyser igenom några av spåren på skivan.
main story:
losing it again är första spåret på skivan, och meningen med låten är att etablera känslan och strävan som främst präglar första halvan av skivan. inför jordens kommande kris visar det sig att det är kontakten med rymden, mer specifikt upptäckten av den jordliknande planeten dionysus alpha, som ger mänskligheten en chans till överlevnad. men är det en chans till överlevnad, eller snarare ett sätt att fly krisen hon själv skapat?
losing it again:
losing it again is about searching for something you can’t really describe, signals from outer space you get short glimpses of without ever connecting with fully. when your focus is on chasing these weak, alien signals there’s a risk of missing the real connections you have here on earth.
the song is about how we as people can get stuck longing for something out if our reach and miss out on the beautiful things we have around us. i think of relationships, and how you can be drawn to people who are unavailable in different ways hoping that the grass is greener on the other side (also see swallowtail), which it rarely is. i wrote this song during a emotionally turbulent time of my life, and that shines through several tracks on the album.
main story:
losing it again is the first track on the album, and the purpose of the song is to establish the feeling and aspiration that primarily characterizes the first half of the track list. faced with earth’s coming crisis, it turns out that it is contact with space, more specifically the discovery of the earth-like planet dionysus alpha, that gives humanity a chance of survival. but is it really a chance for survival, or rather a way to escape the crisis she herself created?

Swallowtail
Swallowtail:
Andra spåret på skivan följer de första människorna som beger sig av från jorden i rymdskeppet the Swallowtail eftersom jordens resurser är uttömda och planeten är på väg mot undergång. Texten beskriver känslan av att ge sig av på denna resa i en gigantisk maskin som ingen människa tidigare har färdats med, och texten avslöjar berättarens oro för hur allt ska gå (delay the countdown of this journey to tge stars/Disengage the thrusters, I’m frightened by the sounds). Låten speglar känslan av att ge sig ut på ett nytt äventyr, eller att helt enkelt testa något man inte gjort förut. Att lämna det säkra och trygga bakom sig i hopp om att förändra sin situation till det bättre. Dock, likt Losing It Again, finns det undertoner av en flykt ifrån ansvar, och att lämna något ofärdigt bakom sig. Namnet Swallowtail är taget ifrån en typ av fjäril, och likt hur fjärilen föds på nytt ur sin kokong som en ny varelse är människan menad att pånyttfödas på denna främmande planet.
Main story:
Detta är punkten då människan först lämnar jorden med kurs mot Dionysus Alpha, planeten menad att bli människans nya utopi. I stället för att jobba för att hålla jorden vid liv väljer de att leta efter en ny värld, med tanken att “den här gången blir det annorlunda”. Men är det en utopi som väntar dem?
Swallowtail:
The second track on the album follows the first humans to leave Earth aboard the spaceship Swallowtail as Earth’s resources are exhausted and the planet is on the brink of collapse. The text describes the feeling of embarking on this journey in a gigantic machine that no human has ever travelled with before, and the text reveals the narrator’s concern about how everything will go (delay the countdown of this journey to the stars/Disengage the thrusters, I’m frightened by the sounds). The song deals with the feeling of going on a new adventure, or simply trying something you haven’t done before. Leaving the safe and secure behind in hopes of changing your situation for the better. However, like Losing It Again, there are undertones of escaping one’s responsibility, and leaving something unfinished behind. The name Swallowtail is taken from a type of butterfly, and like how the butterfly is reborn from its cocoon as a new creature, man is meant to be reborn on the new planet.
The main story:
This is the point when man first leaves Earth on course for Dionysus Alpha, the planet meant to become man’s new utopia. Instead of working to keep the Earth alive, they choose to look for a new world, with the idea that “this time things will be different.” But is it utopia that awaits them?

Space Wedding
Space Wedding:
Space Wedding är en kortare instrumental etyd som är menad att symbolisera resan genom rymden, energin och äventyrslystnaden från andra klassiska representationer av rymdresor. Låten började som ett pianostycke som Arvid skrev redan 2021, och Space Wedding tillsammans med Swallowtail blev grunden till konceptet för albumet redan vid tiden debutalbumet släpptes.
Låtens mittparti utvecklades från något som kändes som en slags bröllopsmarch, och detta i kombination med syntarna i introt ledde till låtens titel, Space Wedding.
Space Wedding:
Space Wedding is a shorter instrumental etude meant to symbolize the journey through space, the energy and the adventurous spirit of other classic representations of space travel. The song began as a piano piece that Arvid wrote back in 2021, and Space Wedding alongside Swallowtail became the basis for the concept for the album at the time of the release of the debut album.
The middle part of the song developed from something that felt like a kind of wedding march, and this in combination with the synths in the intro led to the song’s title, Space Wedding.
