losing it again är första spåret på skivan, och meningen med låten är att etablera känslan och strävan som främst präglar första halvan av skivan. inför jordens kommande kris visar det sig att det är kontakten med rymden, mer specifikt upptäckten av den jordliknande planeten dionysus alpha, som ger mänskligheten en chans till överlevnad. men är det en chans till överlevnad, eller snarare ett sätt att fly krisen hon själv skapat?

losing it again is about searching for something you can’t really describe, signals from outer space you get short glimpses of without ever connecting with fully. when your focus is on chasing these weak, alien signals there’s a risk of missing the real connections you have here on earth.
the song is about how we as people can get stuck longing for something out if our reach and miss out on the beautiful things we have around us. i think of relationships, and how you can be drawn to people who are unavailable in different ways hoping that the grass is greener on the other side (also see swallowtail), which it rarely is. i wrote this song during a emotionally turbulent time of my life, and that shines through several tracks on the album.
main story:
losing it again is the first track on the album, and the purpose of the song is to establish the feeling and aspiration that primarily characterizes the first half of the track list. faced with earth’s coming crisis, it turns out that it is contact with space, more specifically the discovery of the earth-like planet dionysus alpha, that gives humanity a chance of survival. but is it really a chance for survival, or rather a way to escape the crisis she herself created?
